I would like to setup Firefox so it checks for updates and installs them during maintenance windows (overnight) and runs the updates as 'system' account. This is how Chrome and Edge handle updates.

I tried using the following GPO settings

Application Autoupdate Enabled Background updater Enabled Disable Firefox Studies Enabled Disable Telemetry Enabled Disable Update Disabled Don't Check Default Browser Enabled

This seems to create Schedule tasks in Windows task scheduler, but the tasks are running as previously logged on user accounts. which doesn't help us in this particular environment.

I know we can manually push out the latest version via creating new MCM application pushes but the amount of updates that are coming down is a labor intensive exercise and we don't have the budget for PatchMyPC

Please post any thoughts!

148.0 disabled access to my banking site - same in 149.0. Sign-in screen OK, then a blank page! Site has "additional Permissions" and shows certified. Have to use Edge to access, Suggestions?'

Takes up to 30 minutes to sign in to my online banking account. Sign in with user id and password, get a "swirlly" for a long time, little messages at the left bottom of screen, when the screen finally appears, the graphics display as place hold words which make no sense. Contacted AllegacyFCU and they say it's on your side . . . recommend Chrome? I'm running Win 11Pro. Edge goes right in.

Cannot open my Firefox browser. The icon displays in my startup tray but only shows a small icon temporarily when I click on it; the browser does not open, Nothing I do will change that,

My extension is enabled but site data permissions for its target websites are turned off by default for some users.

This causes the extension to silently do nothing on those sites until the user manually grants permissions..

is this a firefox issue and is there a way to prevent this .

my extension works fine on chrome.

I'm trying to fill a module online, but I keep getting this error message: "JavaScript has been disabled, the form requires JavaScript to validate properly. Please enable JavaScript through Preferences under the Edit menu and reopen the form." I tried following the instructions and also explored every other possibility described in support sections and such but didn't fix the issue. Any other way to solve the problem?

When you go to aol.com, there is a panel at the top with rotating pictures and headlines of current news events, which you can then click to go to the full article. The pictures are still there, and clicking on them will still go to the full article, but the headlines have disappeared. It still works ok on Edge, so it appears to be a Firefox problem, not an AOL or Windows problem. I have tried rebooting, clearing browsing data, updating to very latest Firefox version (I had been 2 or 3 versions out of date), turning off enhanced tracking protection for the AOL.com website, and allowing full cookies and site data for aol.com as an exception. My security protection is the standard Windows package, but I do not allow the cloud based or automatic sample submission aspects. I happened one other time a few months ago, but clearing cookies/cache solved it that time. No such luck so far this time.

When Firefox starts, there are all these supposed "news" stories, and almost all of them are left-wing extremist leaning, anti-American junk, Don't know who supplies or selects them, but is there any way to set it so it presents a more balanced (and truthful) array, or failing that, doesn't come up at all? Lately I can not click all of my browser tabs, only some of them unless I do not have the browser maximized on the screen. If I make is smaller then I can click all of the tabs. Since the recent Firefox update I can't find a hardware acceleration setting to toggle off to see if it helps.

The window is not coming, up. shut it down with task mgr. Deleted xul.json file and it worked for a little while. but broke toady. Windows update done andn restarted.

I use tab groups to save work sessions so I can easily close and reopen them when I need them. I typically use the downward arrow to see all of my tab groups, however, when I opened my laptop today, there are only two tab groups there and no "show all" option. When I opened my laptop today, I did see that Firefox had been closed unexpectedly and the restore sessions option, which I used. The two tab groups I had open when I left my laptop opened again when I used restore sessions, but now those are the only two tab groups I seem to have. How can I get back all of my other tab groups?

Multiple attempts to post this and get help - my tab groups randomly closed and they are all gone. I spent a lot of time gathering up tabs into the right groups for big projects and trips. Somehow a window closed - accidentally, leaving only my inbox one open. I tried to no avail to find tab groups, restore history (option not given), and other ways to restore this.

I had been excited about the option of tab groups, and in the past they always reopened after a restart. But today they disappeared in the middle of session. It's tons of work and time lost and I don't think I'll use them again. What a disappointment.

Ok, so I dont use my computer that much, but anyway. I get on it today and this "create a profile" pops up. once I get in to firefox Everything is gone, my history, passwords, bookmarks, addons.

WTF happened???????

I have now downloaded Duckduck as my browser but I really want to have Mozilla's own browser, not a Microsoft-owned or Google browser. Every time I try to download the Mozilla browser I am told it has been interrupted - always when it is two-thirds of the way through the installation process. Why ?
