I accidentally messed it up when trying to remove the desktop icon because I already set Firefox in my taskbar. Now I get an unfamiliar screen and my settings, including bookmarks, are gone. Is it possible to set my laptop to undo changes made today?

I've been annoyed recently to see the Firefox symbol on both my Desktop and in the taskbar and finding that there are two in the taskbar when I open one. The bottom line is that I seem to have completely obliterated Firefox as I'd had it set up! Can I restore my Firefox settings to where they were yesterday?

All bookmarks and history lost. Have spent over 2 hours following the steps outlined as a standard treatment for this problem, attributed to another program interfering with Firefox Profiles or bookmarks. Restarts of Firefox and PC failed to restore, Going to Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks fails because when you get to the Library window for Import or Restore and select profile (I show 3 right now, all tagged as .default), there is no way in the window to accomplish a restore. You can insert a profile in the open window but there is no way to activate the restore function. Likewise when I accessed the list of 15 prior bookmark files I had the same result with the restore window. The instructions do not make any sense to me. Need somebody to contact me directly and walk through problem via phone call.

Since accidentally deleting my current firefox profile, I have been experiencing a multitude of problems: Firstly, if it's possible to recover my profile file, that would fix all my problems. I currently have disk drill installed on my computer, so if there's any way to recover it please let me know. If that isn't possible, there are a few issues: 1: the top 3 buttons being shifted to the right (image 1 is what it looks like now, image 2 is what it used to be) 2: the color of the toolbar affected how other websites look(image 3) 3: all extensions being removed, though this was probably due to the deletion of the profiles

I need a more permanent fix to the disappearing bookmarks issue when the file is in use by another entity. I have tried to fix it, read the instructions and when I start to apply the fix, the instructions disappear and now I have to depend on my faulty memory.

bold text'I am so fed up with these updates loosing my passwords and data, why ? All my settings are messed up and last time it took two weeks to get everything back, why? I give up total idiots for releasing updates that are sub par!

I have just replaced my PC after the old one decided not to connect to the net & performed a backup of just about everything. Tried to restore Firefox backup & it's asking for a password when I didn't create one! I've tried the Firefox sign in password but that was rejected - any ideas anyone? Thanks

Please tell me what to do to get the bookmarks back. Up to date Firefox: 147.01. Mac OS Sequoia: 15.5.

I had the Toolbar and Bookmarks Library yesterday. All are gone today. I have already spent much time reading on Mozilla site and Reddit. I will have to go to Safari and work from there.

I will check back periodically to see if I get any help.

Firefox installed a new version and my stuff has disappeared. I don't recognize the window at all. I have tried the "restore sessions" but I'm told it can't happen. I need my stuff back.

I restarted my computer, Windows 11, and everything was gone, no passwords nothing. I'm not a computer person but can follow instructions. I'm lost without this,please help. Can I retrieve yesterday's Firefox?

I rebooted my laptop to find that Firefox removed all of my data. I looked up for ways to fix this and then arrived at the conclusion that I could create a profile and set the folder to one of the profiles that weren't listed on Firefox. It seemed to save my history correctly and my saved downloads, but they all said that they were moved or missing. I checked the passwords and instead of the long list of passwords that I normally have, there were only a couple, and the passwords were also sometimes outdated. I cannot recover some of these passwords. I've tried checking the passwords in the other profiles that were listed in the profiles and nothing shows up. None of the cookies were saved either

FireFox Tab Groups can remain closed and be re-opened via "List All Tab Groups"

That's why I use FireFox (v146/v147) and not Edge or Chrome

BUT what worked well these last four months suddenly stopped working TODAY, i.e.

 "List All Tab Groups" has disappeared and all I see are tab groups created today

Sadly I never created any FireFox account until a few minutes ago Does that mean those lost Tab Groups can only be recreated manually or is there an easier way ?

Will this catastrophe happen every time FireFox auto-updates itself on start-up (v147 since Jan13) ???

All of a sudden my bookmarks and history have disappeared and I cannot add new bookmarks. I have researched this and tried everything I could find to fix - namely restarting FF, restarting the PC, renaming places.sqlite, using task manger to locate which app is locking the file. I also used the Places Database to Verify Integrity and here are the results: Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to fix corruption, places.sqlite will be replaced on next startup > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.

Nothing has worked. Help!

firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?
