When emails arrive it shows the number received in bold in my inbox. Since the last update instead of the new emails being listed at the top of my inbox they disappear. I then have to search through all the emails listed at the top of my inbox to find out if the new emails have been added to one of those. How do I get back to having all new emails listed at the top of my inbox.

Everything working just fine last night. Wake up and Thunderbird will not retrieve emails.

Remembered this old message I got so I went through and deleted my second email address, didn't help.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Anyone have any ideas?

In Thunderbird all of a sudden my sent e-mails are going in to the sent box of ANOTHER e-mail address I have on Thunderbird. I looked at some similar posts and think my settings are correct but obviously not. Please help! Thanks, Adam

I have spent literally hours on this - as has my webmaster from LaborArts, and my support desk at Firstlight.net, which provides the email.

I have used Thunderbird as an email platform for decades. in the past few weeks it has stopped keeping copies of sent emails and stopped saving drafts IF they contain any links or photos or anything other than plain text. I get a message allowing me to save it to the local folder on the computer. This is useless, as I use the email via a browser at work AND on computer at home, so it needs to be saved on the server.

Can anyone help? The message exactly reads: "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Items) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent Items-rachelb@bestweb.net"

Comcast/Xfinity email services have migrated to Yahoo. Using Thunderbird I cannot send out a reply. the error message is "Login to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with username leifsvensen failed."

I am getting emails in, but for some reason it is not asking for a password when I open up Thunderbird. I would like it to ask for a password every time I open Thunderbird.

outgoing mailbox settings: Server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port:465 security: SSL/TLS Authentication: normal password user: leifsvensen

I have also tried it with authentication turned off and get the same result.

Hi, very nice of you to listen to my problem. It already startet some days ago when I realised that it took very much time to receive mails, in some the content still kept hidden. To work with the about 60 mails listed in the Income-folder, and select some to read the text I was surprised to realize, that in the next moment the folder was empty, none of the mails could be seen on my Windows laptop. I had to switch to the mail-server with Vodafone to see me mails. This situation occured with all folders on 2 Laptops with Windows 10 and windows 11. What could I do ?

I cannot sent emails. My account is a gmail one, I am using these settings i na POP3 modality:

Server Name: smtp.gmail.com Port: 587 User Name: matos@sgmr.net Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: STARTTLS

I have used the verification tool in settings, and it establishes the connection.

However, when I try to send, I get one of these responses: "Enter your password for matos@sgmr.net on smtp.gmail.com." I enter the password and it either asks for the password again or I will get: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again."

Hi, I use thunderbird as both POP and IMAP through gmail. I keep all my emails on my POP thunderbird desktop client. I use IMAP on my thunderbird laptop client, iPhone, iPad via Apple mail when remote, then download the emails to my desktop.

What I want to do is read emails and set them to archive on my IMA laptop, iPhone, iPad. I know Gmail tags the archived emails. How do I stop thunderbird from downloading the archived emails to my POP thunderbird desktop client?

Hi. I have four gmail accounts and use a desktop pc runnings windows 11. I have been using thunderbird as my desktop email client for many years, but recently, something has changed. My incoming emails are not formatted correctly and the links in them do not work. I'm not sure I am saying that correctly, so I will attach a screenshot. I would love some advice on how to fix this! I have just set up Thunderbird on a new Windows 11 PC. So far as I can tell I have filled in the server details correctly. I can receive incoming mail. However, it fails to send emails out - I have tried a couple which I know are correct. Error message is: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <<snip>>: Relay access denied.

Please check the message recipient "<snip>" and try again.

(I've removed the actual mail address from the error message.) I've read the answers to previous versions of this query and made the correction as suggested. This hasn't helped. Any suggestions please? Many thanks, Roger Moore

Hi, my folders have disappeared, apart from my inbox - including sent, junk, deleted. How do I recover them please? I've tried the suggestions from Google, but nothing works.

Also, as a separate issue, I can't now send or receive emails from my iPhone, but can from my Mac? On my phone, I get a message saying that the server is not responding. I have tried entering my server details but it doesn't work. The message says 'bad certificate format - 9,808'. This happened overnight and I hadn't changed anything. How do I fix this please, in order to send and receive messages on my phone.

One of my email accounts will not connect. It was working but has not connected for two days. The message says log in failed for X@yahoo.com.

I am trying to find a program that allows me to use all the features of iCloud Mail on my Windows 11 OS . Is Thunderbird compatible with iCloud Mail ? I tired installing and using Thunderbird but it seemed that some of my sent emails were not delivered. So I uninstalled Thunderbird.

I can receive emails fine. But when I attempt to forward an email TB tries using the wrong SMTP server, and an email address that no longer exists in any email account. For example, the email is in a yahoo account and TB tries using a gmail server. I have email accounts (in TB) with gmail, yahoo, rocketmail, AOl, and verizon.net. I have verified ALL server settings for each account as correct. I first experienced this in ver. 140.8.1esr(64-bit), and updating to 140.10.1esr (64-bit) did not resolve the issue.
