I know how to customize using the typical methods. (i.e. right click the toolbar >Customize... and Firefox>Options>Toolbar layout...) I do not know how to do this manually. As in- locate random file, open with editor, edit line, blah blah blah.

So do NOT reply with "have you tried this? or this? or this?" I've tried a dozen different things to no avail...

And for the love of cheeznips, do not ask if the toolbar is full, I cannot take anything off of it!

Here is the specific issue: I have Firefox 14.0.1 The customize toolbar layout does NOT work. When I try to drag a button from the box to the toolbar... nothing happens. When I try to drag a button from the toolbar to the box, nothing happens..

Using Safe Mode does NOT work either. It doesn't show the buttons I want to Add/Remove.

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
