Cannot delete Cloudflare window
Only with Deepl, I click on this program and immediately I get a window which says "Checking if the connection is secure". Underneath this, I have to check a box which says "Verify if you are human", with the Cloudflare logo.
I've tried everything to get rid of this as it slows me up. I've tried Settings/Installed Apps, Search, Programs etc but it is not contained in any of these lists. I contacted Cloudflare who gave me some suggestions which didn't work (can't remember them), then said it was part of Mozilla and it was them that have attached this window so I need to contact you to get rid of it.
Can you help me please?

Hi jbr,
I think we've gone as far as we can with this. I will continue with the link that doesn't contain the Cloudflare window.
Thanks very much for your help.
Best wishes and thanks for the work that you do!

Hi, we are not owners of Deepl nor Cloudflare.
This does not answer my question.
Cloudflare told me that it was part of the Mozilla program.
Hi just because someone wants Mozilla to be the responsible one, doesn't equate the fact that 'they' set up this check.
Underneath this, I have to check a box which says "Verify if you are human", with the Cloudflare logo.
One thing you can do is to try another browser to see how that fares.
Is the problem the numbers of times you are asked?
You can block popups, and sites etc. and you could Allow All cookies any of which may effect the way Firefox interacts with Cloudflare.
Hello Amoun,
I am using Mozilla Firefox and do not have this problem with Chrome so it seems to me that it is a MF problem?
It shows every time I open Deepl, even if I have just closed it. It will not "go" until I check the box.
Could I ask you to explain your last sentence please?
My guess their answer was the user installed "privacy" addons that tamper with the sites — that then trigger the human verification.
Try restarting into Troubleshoot Mode (from Help menu) and open a new Private Window there and try the same site(s), to see if you still get challenged by Cloudflare. If yes, it's the site operator's choice. If not, it's your addons interfering.
Thanks jbr, I'll try this later!

Not a problem as such but a maybe a cautious default not to allow cross-site cookies, etc.
Did you try any of the things I mentioned ?
Hello Anoun,
If you read my answer, you will see that I have answered your suggestions.
I could use Chrome but I prefer MF - not worth changing for just one problem.
As I also said "It shows every time I open Deepl".
I've asked you for clarification of your last sentence.
Hello jbr,
I am presently running in Troubleshoot mode.
When you say to open a new private window, is this the same as opening a new tab? I do not have the same options in Troubleshoot mode.
When I do this, I have 2 Deepl sites......... https://www.deepl.com/en which is perfect, then https://www.deepl.com/en/translator which then produces the Cloudflare window.
Now that I know this, I can simply save the first site to my bookmarks - I don't use it often enough to know what the differences are.
However, does this answer the question of the problem being with the Add-ons please?
No, private windows / private tabs don't share their historic data from earlier site usage. Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history — the idea is to start without any prior human verification session stored or classification persisted with you from the earlier attempts.
As for the home page over deeper pages access — does it work the same way outside of troubleshoot mode too? They might just want to you to use the initial entry point, without directly accessing the individual bookmarked links. 🤷
Hi jbr,
OK - tried Troubleshoot mode, then opened Private Window (I understand this now). I still get the Cloudflare window using the https://www.deepl.com/en/translator link which you say is "the site operator's choice" and therefore nothing to do with my Add-ons. The "site operator" being MF?
If I understand your second para correctly, then yes, it works the same way outside of Troubleshoot mode, i.e. https://www.deepl.com/en works normally and https://www.deepl.com/en/translator contains the Cloudflare window.
"Site operator" in this case is either DeepL, or CloudFlare — depending on the contractual details between them.
(Given I get the verification challenge on that deeplink even in Edge and Chrome on all systems tested I can't really help with any comparison — I get it all the time unconditionally, even after navigating to their home and then back, I'm still getting challenged. So it's their choice apparently.)
