Trouble changing color of text while composing a Mail in Thunderbird 140.2esr on Ubuntu 24.04

more options

I can´t change the color of a Message I am composing in Thunderbird 140.2esr, on Ubuntu 24.04. Using the tools to pick up color, as well as the Format (menu), does not change the color of the selected text to the selected color. How may I repair that.

This is a new issue, especially with OS X, so you might try the fix and see if it works (requires changing a single preference).

Hi, You may please try he following

Settings-->General-->Config Editor... This will land you on "Advanced Preferences" tab within Thunderbird. In the search bar type "color" It will show you all the modifiable entries which has "color" as keyword Select "browser.display.document_color_use" Change its value to '1' from 0. Close the "Advanced Preferences" Tab. Restart TB for changes to take effect. Compose a new mail and test whether the changes have come into effect or not.

I hope this works for you, since it worked for me. I am using TB 140.4.Oesr(64 Bit) in Ubuntu 25.0
