I have reinstalled Thunderbird and am trying to get the pcv backup file installed correctly
1. I tried to send a mail to a group of my friends (about 10). The sending failed as unknown mailbox. On reading up son some blogs it is possible that i may have been marked a s a spammer. Not sure why as i sent a similar mail last week. 2. I have 4 addresses that i mange; my and my wife's gmail accounts; a mail.com address and also a gmail address for our townhouse residents' asscoaciation. 3. I was receiving mail into all accounts and i could send mail from my wife and the association, but cannot send anything via my own 2 addresses. 4. I did a MozBackup and stored the pcv file on a portavble drive. 5. I uninstalled Thunderbird and then reinstalled the lattest version. I started it to ensure that the registry.dat file was created. 6. Then i tried to restore the pcv file. Mozbackup indicated that the restore had been successful. 7 When i opened Thunderbird the profiles had notb been setup and it seems that i have to create the profiles from scratch and that means that i have lost all the mails that i have organised. Using Gmail online is a pain.
2 things. How can i use that pcv file to recover and what can i do to 'clean' my mail profiles and not be blocked?
I hiope someone out there can do alockdown miracle!! Here's hoping. Oh yes, i am using a Windows 10 64-bit laptop.

I will guess it is this https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html
Note mozbackup is not supported and as I understand it is not reliable as it has had no updates or bug fixes for almost a decade.

Hi Matt I cannot thank you enough. It took a bit for me to fully iunderstand the steps, but i clicked the correct button eventually and Voila!, there they all were. Just one thing. The last time i used Mozbackup was about 4 years ago when i installed a new laptop. I used the backup pcv file from the old machine and Mozbackup retored perfectly. In going foward, i usually take a full backup once a month. How woud you suggest i back up Thunderbird so that i can re-install it with all the profiles correctly in the event of another problem like today? In the current process did Thunderbird dicover the file and use it to restore the profiles?
Once again, thanks. You're a star.
the import export tools addon have a profile backup option. But it is slow.
The easiest is to just use the windows shortcut to press Window key+r to open the run dialog and type %appdata%
Then in windows file manager just drag and drop Thunderbird folder that is shown to the backup device. Backup complete.
(I assume mail is stored in default locations,)
