I have some contacts that have Mobil phones and I can add there phone number is thunderbird to send emails. Which i can do. When i receive a response it only lets me read their reply from phone tsxt message in note pad it goes direct ly to notepad. can not ipen in the email. i am sending a sample of what I get is there a way to configure the attachments. to rad the text in Thunderbird

this is how it is configured. It said notepad at first then I changed it to always ask. why ca i not open these to read in thunderbird '

If you have View/Display Attachments Inline checked, a plain text or image file attachment will appear 'opened' below the message body.

There's something odd in your first picture: it shows 'size unknown' for the attachments, as if they aren't really attached in full. If you look at the message source (Ctrl+U), can you see the text of the message? Are these messages sent from a smartphone or is the sender using some kind of text-to-email process on T-Mobile?

yes these messages are sent from phones. mine messages to t hem are from a computer their answers are from phones yes
