Why won't firefox android on nook hd play video on redlettermedia.com (or blip.tv), despite https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=935472?

latest version of everything as far as I know 5/27/14 (no updates available).

Videos play fine on chrome and dolphin on redlettermedia.com (which embeds blip.tv, I believe), also on blip.tv website, but not in firefox, and not in firefox beta. Get an error along the lines of video or mime type not supported, or nothing at all.

Don't know if youtube works, as it launches an external app. Vimeo says the video can't be played with my current setup.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=935472 seems to identify the same error and claims it's fixed, at least on blip.tv, but not my experience.

Thanks for assistance.

Looks like this may require Firefox 30, which is currently in the Play Store as Firefox Beta or waiting until June-10 for our Firefox 30 release.

With Fx 30+I am able to play some blip content. For example http://blip.tv/radio-dead-air/here-there-be-dragons-star-wars-the-expanded-trashcan-6880954 and content on the http://blip.tv/redlettermedia page.

Thank you for your attention.

Alas, my experience is unchanged :( . I get "Sorry, we're unable to play this episode" after tapping the play triangle, in the links you suggested.

I am using the firefox for android beta, downloaded from play store yesterday.

Can your device's Firefox play back this file in a tab or does it download the file? http://people.mozilla.org/~cpeterson/videos/big-buck-high.mp4

Thanks for your help.

It tries to download the video/play it in another app.
