I keep receiving error message blocking the sending personal email. Here is the sample: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. I am almost about to stop using Firefox. Why is it so hard to gain access to YouTube? Never have a problem with Microsoft Edge. If a fix cannot be made without jumping through a lot of hoops and steps, I will have to stop using Firefox. Fix this mess. This problem has been around now for some time. Get it fix or accept other users switching to other browsers that seem to have no problem at all getting to and using YouTube. Very Frustrating.

IT DID BEFORE! (automatic formatting change seems to be disabled, or scrapped...all I get is some black globs.. see attached screen capture of "add-ons"

This is stupid, since the problems have been compounded with each "upgrade".... Now, FYI, I tried to duplicate the problem while I am on this contact page, and, don'tcha know it...it works fine...?????? One way around it is to restart TB, then it seems to work as expected!!?? This version is broken...Please advise a reversal to an earlier version , just so I can get back to proper operation, while you get this straightened out. And, NO, there are no answers on "help page referrals"...most are outdated! Oh, and by the way checkout my screen capture of this "help" page (I am using Waterfox).. An example of the buggy version...It even affects Waterfox!!!! Sent two docx screen captures...I doubt they were received, as the menu was blanked!!!

System: Win10/64 Workstation Pro AMD Zen 3 3800X 32GB Ram

I have been a happy user of Thunderbird for >>10 years, and it has been solid most of the time. But now, it suddenly has been in a mode of constantly "Not Responding". It will be completely non-responsive for maybe 30 minutes, and then partially recover until I do something else, using about 18% of CPU and < 500MB memory. At this point, it is essentially not functional, but it is not crashing completely.

Sometimes I get message that the mail host did not respond to DELE command or that the mail host is not responding due to timeout. I figure this is just because it has reached the max timeout.

I have installed the latest version of Thunderbird, (102.1.0), deleted all the .msf files and went to each folder and rebuilt it. Real-time virus protection turned off for testing. This is running on Windows 10. This sort of started after the recent Windows 10 update, so perhaps other people are encountering this. I did not see this exact same problem.

Sometimes it hangs really badly and provides a little tiny image of the window, about 1/2" tall and 2" wide. Then I have to kill the process. I attached a typical process summary when this is hung. It is completely not responsive for many minutes each time. I don't get an error message every time. It definitely hangs if I check for mail from the server, or sometimes try to delete a message. Here, I started Thunderbird in safe mode, with no plugins, and with real-time virus scanning disabled.

Attempted to get email, It hung (Not Responding) After 30 minutes, received this message:

Sending of password for user ____ did not succeed. Mail server mail.XXXXX.com responded: Disconnected for inactivity during authentication.

Login to mail.XXXXXXX.com failed with username ____ failed. (retry, enter new password, cancel) Entered password. Then it accepted password.

Downloading message NNN of 1078

Proceeded without problem to message 198 of 1078

Then, "Login to server mail.XXXXX.com with username ____ failed. (retry, enter new password, cancel) Hourglass... can't enter new password. Started hourglass at 10:06am.

10 minutes later: "The DELE command did not succeed. Error marking a message as deleted. Mail server responded: Disconnected for inactivity."

was able to delete messages in the Inbox and to reply to one email.

Selected mailbox "WhiteBulkBox" Hung again, starting at 10:48am Process display looks similar to the clip attached. recovered at 11:04am Selected folder properties, then Repair Folder. Hourglass. not responding. 11:43 Recovered. Random request for password popped up. WhiteBulkBox should be repaired. Clicked "Repair Folder" again. There are only 501 messages in the folder. 504MB size. Hourglass at 11:45. Same process listing. 12:24 noticed it had recovered. Clicked ok without re-repairing the folder. Clicked on first item in the folder. Hourglass. 12:25pm Same process listing. 21 to 37% CPU Gave up at 2pm. Killed the process. restarted in troubleshoot mode, 2:01 pm. Hourglass. Recovered by 2:40. opened Inbox of one email. Hourglass at 2:44 3.24pm was able to delete several files form Inbox. Now it is empty. Properties, repair folder. Hourglass. Crazy that it would have such trouble repairing an empty folder. recovered at 4:07pm. Now show 0 messages in Inbox, but size on disk is still 87.8MB. That seems sort of strange. Clicked "Repair Folder" again. Finished quickly. There was one message in the folder, marked ***SPAM***. This is strange because I had turned off automatic checking for new messages. Hourglass started at 4:11 pm 4:35pm recovered. Checked server settings, all set to not automatically check for new messages, did not make any further changes. Selected inbox of one user, Repaired Folder, finished quickly. But then went into hourglass mode. 4:37pm 4:57 recovered. Clicked on folder "WhiteInBox", clicked "Repair Folder" no hangup. Back to WhiteBulkBox. Clicked it, Not responding. 5:00pm 5:20pm recovered. This WhiteBulkBox seems to be a key problem, and may be the reason getting new mail fails. Right-clicked the folder, Properties, Repair Folder, hourglass. 5:22pm 6:16pm recovered. clicked OK Now try to delete messages in WhiteBulkBox. clicked first message, message displayed. no problem at first. press DEL key, hourglass. 6:17pm still hung, 7:30pm. I think like the last time, this will not recover, but I will let it run to see. Meanwhile, I will submit this information and hopefully someone might have a similar experience. Please help! Otherwise, I will have to abandon Thunderbird.

Hi I'm getting a send message error from Thunderbird when trying to send emails - screen image attached. It shows "Message rejected (104)" but I can find no details of what this means. I have checked (and updated) the smtp server settings for the email address without success. Does anyone know what that error message means, or can you point me in the right direction to diagnose the fault? Is there anything I can do to get further information about the problem? When I start up Thunderbird, the message filter properly copies one message to a local folder, but all other messages do not get copied. This worked before I changed to a new computer (W10 94 bit). I am using AOL as a mail server and it happens on both accounts I have. I have not tried on a non-AOL email. If I don't close Thunderbird, most of the emails copy, but not if they come in about the same time. It happens on several versions of Thunderbird including the latest 102.1.2 (64-bit). Any suggestions/settings etc I may have missed in the transfer?

I've been using firefox for a while. A few versions ago (I don't remember the correct version), I started noticing some sites have broken font (defaulting the base font as used font is not available) and/or icons not being displayed.

I started investigating my extensions (I'm using ublock origin) and standard protection from firefox. Inside the console and found out that fonts (in my example at least) are being block by CORS policy.

E.g: "Blocking of a cross-origin request: the "Same Origin" policy does not allow viewing the remote resource located at https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/materialicons/v135/flUhRq6tzZclQEJ-Vdg-IuiaDsNc .woff2. Reason: CORS request failed. Status code: (null)." on website "https://materializecss.com/"

That is not breaking the browser but is kinda annoying. How can I do to allow fonts to be downloaded and used ? I've checked with other browsers (chrome/chrome-like/safari) and they work as excepected. Note that it's perfectly working for the very same website on firefox iOS

I just restarted my W10 Laptop and now my default Thunderbird Profile crashes every time I try to start it! I have tried Troubleshooting Mode, but that makes no difference. My other 2 profiles are still working okay! Thunderbird is v91.11.0 (32-bit). My TB upgraded from 9x to 102.1.2 and it just kept getting worse - to the point that it is now unusable.

For starters, once the program upgraded from 9x to 102x, I kept getting pop up notices that an upgrade to 102 was available.

And for each upgrade, the "not responding" got worse and worse. Now, with 102.1.2 it is unresponsive the moment it is opened.

If I leave TB open and leave it alone, it eventually will download 100 messages in about an two hours - it download one, then go to not responding for a period, repeat.

Once they are downloaded, and I want to check a message, i.e., to read it, it will go to "not responding".

And to add insult to injury, when I highlight a string of messages to delete, it will delete one, stop responding, repeat, at a slightly faster pace than that of downloading.

I've only been having it issue since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04. Firefox (103.0.2) will lock up (not the pc, it will keep working in other apps). It doesn't seem to matter about the number of tabs open, or what sites I'm accessing. It 'seems' random, and closing Firefox and reopening it seems to work for a short while before locking up again. I'm not a tech guru so I don't know exactly what to include here, like logs, or other info. The other issue associated with this issue is, when it locks, and I restart, Firefox does not start the first time I click on it. I have to click on it again and when I do, it will start, but usually (not every time) I get an error message along with the open home page of Firefox. I have to press the (not sure what to call it) windows key and switch to the error to close it. In the past, I've always had a great experience with Firefox, but this is starting to really be annoying! Especially when I have four of five tabs open and have to do a restart. Firefox doesn't seem to realize it's had a problem so the option to re-open tabs with a restart doesn't happen. So I have to use history, which can be troublesome and confusing, to get back to the pages I was reading. I only open multiple tabs most often when I'm researching an issue and want to 'order' the tabs so I read the ones that look like they apply the most to my research topic. So it really is an annoying issue. So much so, that I have been looking to switch browsers. But I really do not like the large commercial entities not to name names, but I may have to suck it up and install the Big G's browser, the Big C! )^: (note: if you respond requesting additional information, please be kind and offer how to obtain the info! I am running TB 102.1.2 64-bit on Windows 10 Professional 21H2. On occasion, TB will stop auto-downloading mail. When this happens, I have to click on "Get Messages" to re-start the POP3 download process. My refresh interval is every ten minutes. Last night at 9:42 I sent a piece of mail, and then no mail was downloaded. I have attached a screen-shot of the TB error console that shows the end of my 9:42PM SMTP mail send and the lines that follow. I do not know how to save the error console to a file, and I do not know if there is more relevant information in the error console. I have not kept track of the occurrences of this problem, so I cannot tell when the problem first surfaced.

I will now click "Get Messages", as I need to see my mail. Is there any other documentation I can capture when this problem next occurs? Thanks.

I clicked "Get Messages", and I saw an error pop-up window:

    Error with account ...
    The account ... is being processed.  Please wait until processing is complete to get messages.

I believe that this is the first time I have seen this pop-up message. I opened ProcessExcplorer, and I have a screen-shot of Thunderbird. I have tried to add the image to this posting, but I do not see it.

A (rather aged) friend uses Mozilla Thunderbird as mail client for her Gmail imap account. It is not likely that she will ever switch (that would be my solution). Auto update is on and the latest update has broken something, so when she clicks on a message in the inbox instead of opening it in a view window, it opens an edit window with her own email address instead of that of the sender and it displays an error banner saying "A unique identity matching the From address was not found (...) " I tried uninstalling and re-installing, deleting the profile and making a new one but that makes no visible difference.

Firefox 103.0.2 is running but seems to be preventing the iMac screen saver from functioning and appears in the iMac Activity Monitor with a "Yes" notation in the Preventing Sleep column.

Running "Refresh Firefox" seems to briefly fix the problem but it soon returns.

Any suggestions on why this happens and how to restore reliability to the screen saver?

In the last few days it happened a few times that when I receive new emails, I receive the alert sound, I can see that I have an unread message, but I cannot find the email itself. Even if I change to filter only the unread messages, cannot find the new incoming email. It is not in the spam or any other folder.

When I log in to the webmail of my email provider, I can see the email, but even there if I try to forward the email to myself the same thing happens. In Thunderbird the email could not be found. It seems, that some emails are not downloaded by Thunderbird. TB version is 102.1.2, and IMAP is used to get the emails. No AntiVirus is used.

Any idea, what can be the problem, and how to could be solved?

I have surfed whole internet to find out everything about this tag. Cannot find any relationship with any of components, ideas where I could fix that.

Please take a look on Image, when the message has the [shortinfo] tag or something like that, the content is not showing up, its blank.

Messages are not comming in pairs or something like that, it just come with this kind of bonus.

Hi, it seems I found a bug. When I use fast browse window in Thunderbird for specific email, occasionally it founds messages but don't display them. See at attached screenshot - Thunderbird found 8 messages, but displayed none. The same messages are properly displayed when using general browser in mail tools bar above - everything works correctly there.

How can I fix it?

As you can see in attached image, the subject (date and sender) in the emails list is the just-received email i was waiting for... but the contents is one another old email (from Paypal) in another local folder ! When I open the email in a new thunderbird's tab , same thing. I deleted the amil, from deletede folder list the subject is still correct but the contents is bad. I restore the email in my main inbox and then the subject is the old's email subject : i lost completly the new email that I just received....

What a weird behavior ?

That is a serious mistake!

There is another bug i saw since a few years ; ghost lines in some folder email lists without any subject, and a received-date from 01/01/1970 !!!
