I wish to upgrade to Thunderbird 115 and how do I get to the app so that I can click on the upgrade. Simple question but I have forgotten how to get out of the first screen to the app. Pat Blackburn, uepat624@gmail.com

We cannot get a google account because our landline neither sends nor receives text messages. We are in process of setting up and testing a cell phone, and would like to load Firefox for Android as the browser. We cannot download from google play because google demands to send a text-message "verification" code. We note, thankfully, that Mozilla does not (stupidly) do likewise to set up a Firefox account.

I have a dual-boot (Windows 7 & 10 - presently defaults to 7) system. I've used and loved Thunderbird as my default mail client on the 7 side. But now I'm using the 10 side more and want Thunderbird on 10 also. So I installed it on 10, but when I get a new email it only goes to the 7 side.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

I'm sorry if this topic has already been answered.....and I know it has.....but I have been reading and trying things for almost 3 hours.....I need help!!! I have at work the Thunderbird eMail that goes through a different server. I followed the directions and copied the "Moving Thunderbird Data to a New Computer" to a flash drive. I used that and have all the files that were on it, now on my at home computer. It appears that everything is good up to that point. I even get the window that shows that Thunderbird recognized my other server's setup, however when I choose "OK" it gives me an error message that it is already on the server. I can see the Thunderbird email system on my home computer. But I can't get it to show any of the emails that I know are there from my work computer and I can't get it to download. I'm not sure if I have been clear enough, but I hope either someone can help me with what I have provided--or provide me with directions on how to do the install--EASY directions--because I'm unable to follow what I have found so far. And a reminder--I do still have all the files that I copied to the flash drive--so I could start all over again, and it would not be a problem. THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!

Tired of Apple mail, want to install Thunderbird 78.14.0 on my mac mini. Am running Yosemite 10.10.5.

I can see access to the files on this site but need an installer to load to system.

Am familiar with unix can work off a console but am not a programmer, wouldn't know one end of a compiler from the other.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Using the most recent Thunderbird on both (fully updated) systems, I am getting a recursive generation of "Local Folders" inside "Local Folders" along with "Trash" and "Unsent Messages" folders until the import crashes (this happens independent of the target system being online or offline). I have also tried to only replace the Thunderbird folder in the Roaming folder BUT MANY sub-folders and messages are missing.

My waitrose.com EMAP account with Plusnet is closing. I intend to replace it with gmail.com, which I previously established to support a mobile phone that I can no longer easily use for particular reasons and which I have now also installed into Windows 10 on my PC.

I envisage retiring my old account, whilst retain the complete 'Local Folders' Waitrose structure for reference and historical reasons, assuming that Gmail will establish separate storage to it's own rules, below (or above?) my history.

Is this a reasonable prospect and can you clarify if Gmail will take over my existing Inbox - Drafts - Sent - Junk and Deleted folders to it's use? Or will Gmail install a separate enviroment to it's own design and function?

And will Tbird continue to include my history folder-set along with the new, in the regular Profile Backups?

We two have our own W10 PCs, each with all our Thunderbird email folders, calendars, cardbook databases, addons, local olders etc. We plan to move to a situation where there is just one W11 PC with an admin user (for when we need to install apps), and two normal users, each with its own Desktop, user folder structure etc, and when each of us log in and start Thunderbird, we see our own emails, calendars, cardbooks etc. So we can effectively each use the one PC as our own.

I'm assuming this is possible because Thunderbird profile folders are complete records of all a user's content. I also assume that the W11 PC would only need one installation of Thunderbird itself.

With that in mind, I'd welcome any advice about the sequence of what I install / copy, and under what logins each step is done. Also whether the two profiles should be separated into the two users' user folders, or kept together in a Thunderbird data folder.

By all means point me to any existing documentation if it exists - I couldn't find it myself.

As the title says, is there a way to edit file's name before downloading it? Any extension or anything? As in, e.g I'd like to download a photo but change it's file name before I do so, so I don't have to go into files app on my phone in order to modify it. (Sorry if it's easy to do and I just can't find it but I'm super new to Mozilla and used Opera Mobile before, which had that option, so I'm used to it)

Why has this started up again? Pdf files are automatically downloading to my computer when all I want to do is look at the file. So many files that now need to be trashed after looking at them. This problem has happened in the past, but was resolved, only now I am finding it happen again. I do not want to have files saved unless I want to save them, not Firefox deciding that any file I open should be saved. I have Windows 11 & Firefox Version 113.0.1. Is there a way to revert to an older version of Firefox?

We just got a new computer because the previous computer died. I downloaded and installed Thunderbird on the new machine, which has Windows 11. I entered my name, email *@nc.rr.com and password. It had IMAP configuration on the screen and when I clicked 'Done', it gave me the error "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." When I tried changing it to POP and clicked "Done", I got the same error.

There is a 'configure manually' link, but I do not know how to do that. Please let me know what I should do.

Why did you upgrade my software. Now I can't send any emails. What the h did you do, and would you please stop changing the software if it's working!!!!!! I DIDN'T NEED ANY UPGRADES, IT WAS WORKING JUST FINE!!!! Everything keeps timing out. F you. I can't send anything!!!!!!!!!!!1

TIA , Time to Migrate TB Portable to new computer : I was advised that all need to do is Copy this Folder C:\ThunderbirdPortable to new computer . But that doesn't bring over all my email accounts . Pls , what else do I need to do ? Thanks...

I have been using Firefox 56.0.2 on Windows 7 for years safely. Until yesterday. We had one of those mini powerouts, that caused problems.

My hard drive is failing and Firefox will no longer fully load, it tries bless it, but some FF files must be in the damaged sectors of the hard drive. It then locks the system. Using Chrome works fine. But some logins/passwords/bookmarks had to be changed very recently and are not stored in the chrome browser yet. I hate chrome so use FF as the main browser.

I'm thinking that if I can install a fresh copy of FF 56.0.2 in a separate folder, a separate 2nd copy of FF, and then copy yesterday mornings backed up FF profile (before the crash) I could at least copy over all the bookmarks etc to Chrome so I can have my logins etc back.

This mornings backup failed to backup some FF files, all others were fine. Firefox worked fine yesterday but failed to launch this morning.

Please help save my sanity. I know I have to move to W 10, but cannot on this computer.

I just want everyone to know, I will NEVER again update Thunderbird. I do not like the constantly changing layouts. I do not like layouts changing without my consent or knowledge. You are NOT user friendly any more. While some may like your approach, I do not. Frankly it seems that most software is becoming less and less user friendly and more like, do it Thunderbird's way or else. I hope someday, someone will put out a simple email client similar to your older issues. Also, I do not like the continual nagging to update.

Ok, let me begin. I just lost my boot drive (just the OS) my home directory is on the drive= /export/home/harrison so all I need to do was tell Thunderbird to use my existing email account which when in with out a problem. so I tried to install my main email account so I said existing account and entered my credentials. which are incoming server: IMAP (imap.gmail.com) #993 SSL/TLS OAuth2 and my user name outgoing server: (smtp.gmail.com) #465 SSL/TLS OAuth2 and my user name then click done..... and that when I get this stupid message. "Incoming server already exists"
