Dear Community,

after I have upgraded Quicktime to 7.7.5 the plugin always chrashes on the http://trailers.apple.com/ page, even though the firefox plugin was also upgraded to 7.7.5. Sometimes a video is shown for 1 second and then chrashes or does not load at all and crashes immediatly. An upgrade to Firefox 29.0 did also not solve the problem.

This drives me crazy, since the quicktime plugin worked in firefox before for years without any problem. Any thoughts or help?

Thanks so much Benjamin

Hi,

Sorry that Quicktime is crashing on you. The crash report you gave me (thank you!) is linked to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1000364 which is a rather new bug that QT is having trouble. More technical details:

  • its a unknown windows address call from the plugin

That bug report states that this issue is a WONTFIX in Firefox 29 but it's slated to be fixed in Firefox 30.
I would suggest that you go to Firefox Beta (it's at version 30) as a workaround until this bug is fixed. You can CC yourself in the bug report just be sure that if you add comments, please read the Bugzilla etiquette before posting:
