In the last couple of months I have been getting Firefox update notices in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop.

When clicking on a few of these updates, all with different numbers or versions, my computer gets infected with programs I do not want. There are NO options to not get these unwanted programs.

So I don't know if these are genuine Firefox updates, or not.

I am wondering if you at Mozilla are aware of this..because, as for me, I will not tolerate this type of activity.

Chosen solution

If you are getting other software bundled with a Firefox "update" it's malware or some third-party program, not Firefox.

Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware can help, also run through your installed programs list and see if there is anything along the lines of "update(r)" there and remove it. Firefox updates never show up in the lower right hand corner, so this is something else.

Some of those were probably fake update notices.

The frequency of official Firefox updates hasn't changed, a 6 week interval as it has been since Firefox 6 came out back in 2011 (except at the end of 2013 when there was an 8 week cycle).
