All of a sudden Firefox wont save passwords unless in safe mode, also when I click the download icon (next to the home button) nothing happens.

As the title says, for some reason I can no longer save passwords unless I'm in safe mode. The same time this started happening, the downloads icon next to the home button became useless. Clicking on it does nothing.

I've tried resetting Firefox, I've disabled add ons (it's none of them that's causing it), I've reinstalled Firefox, I've created a new profile, I've even transferred data between profiles. Nothing seems to fix it. I don't know what else to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the solution! Turning hardware acceleration off and on again fixed it!
