I always have Hotmail pinned as an app-tab. In version 12 and below, when a new email arrived it would display immediately in the tab. Or if I was on another tab the app-tab would turn blue to notify me.

After the upgrade to version 13 this no longer works. I have to click the refresh button to get it to show new messages. I have tried the following:

  • Restarted computer
  • Deleted related cookies
  • Cleared cache
  • Updated plugins
  • Tested in safe mode
  • Reset firefox

None has worked. Any other suggestions? Any help would be great.

Thanks madperson,

I obviously didn't look hard enough. Should have checked the bugs.

Hopefully hotmail will sort it out soon.

This is now fixed on Firefox 13.0.1.

But looking at the bug it seems this is a temporary fix. We are still waiting for the hotmail team to make their changes so that it will work in v14 and up.

Thanks to those who did the temporary fix!
