Pop-ups disabled but I'm getting them, though not a lot. Ad Blocker apparently enabled, but no ads are being blocked on website pages. Moving over to my Yahoo email takes an endless amount of time, and working within the email does too. I've been having similar problems in Google Chrome (which has features I prefer--maybe just because I'm used to it) so I thought I'd see if I could avoid them in Firefox, but it seems I just have another set of problems--no actual crashing, as in Chrome, but LOTS of very long hangups.

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded both malware/spyware programs and ran them. the first one found some problems (and lots of tracking cookies) and corrected them, the second found nothing wrong. However, i am still getting 'Flash is blocked by browser' messages. I figured out the AdBlock problem and fixed that. I will try uninstalling Firefox and Chrome once I've completed some tasks I'm in the middle of. My guess is that the slow movement has to do with Flash Player.
