I have been getting a page pop up stating that Firefox is infected it claims to be a Firefox virus scan. I am running Mac OS X . I keep canceling it as I've never seen this page before and was under the impression that Macs don't get infected. Thank you

It comes up as a red box listing various Trojans , viruses , etc.. It opens another file box that needs to be OKed to work. Is this really a Firefox tool?

Firefox doesn't do anti-virus scans, it has no virus detection. That's probably a fake scan that is attempting to sell you a program to fix the problem. I bet that if you would upload a screenshot of that page, that fake scan would be showing a Windows files system and not even something that would be appropriate on a Mac.
