How to return to previous version of Firefox that is compatible with AVG Anti-virus.

I just upgraded to Firefox 6(?) as instructed when I logged-in, and now my AVG anti-virus doesn't work. I have paid for it and need it to work. You had no warning about this on the screen for the update. So you need to tell me how to go back to the previous version of Firefox. (I searched your support site, and found notice that this incompatibility is indeed true, but not about what to do, except to stop using Firefox.) Please help. ASAP.
