Words that I frequently use are not included in the dictionary. How can I add these words?

When you have a word showing as misspelled, Ctrl+left-click on the word that is underlined, then at the top of the context menu are the suggested correct spellings followed by "Add to dictionary". When you click "Add to dictionary", the word that you Ctrl+left-clicked on will be added to your personal dictionary just as you currently have it spelled.

This didn't solve the problem. I click add to dictionary and the very next time I use that word it is still marked as miss spelled! It almost seems as though something is locked not allowing the additions to take place.

I'm running Linux and other apps that have add to dictionary work fine the only app that doesn't save these additions is Firefox Yes it saves it for the current session but when I close Firefox and restart it my additions to the dictionary are gone!

You can check if Firefox creates a persdict.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder when you quit Firefox.

If Firefox doesn't create that file then try to create an empty text file yourself.

Also make sure that you aren't running Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
