Why does firefox 3.0 & 5.0 hang evertime after 5-10 minutes?

I have 4 browsers: Firefox, IE, Google Chrome, and Opera.

In the past month all of them hang or freeze up after 5-10 minutes on the web. This has never happened before.

Windows cannot close them out through the Task Manger so I have to reboot everytime, which takes 6-8 minutes.

My Anti-Viruses have removed a program called browser modifier a number of times, but they still do the same thing.

Compared to a few months ago when I was surfing the web with no problems, it has now become a nightmare because I am rebooting my computer 20 times a day!

Firefox was my main browser since I discovered it. It worked great up until this problem.

Please help to fine the culprit that's causing this terrible annoyance?
