After updating, certain sites no longer remember my user ID / username - can I recover this from my previous version of Firefox?

I use some websites where you can check a box so that it remembers your username. This is fine until Firefox updates, the box is no longer checked, if I check it then nothing is entered. I don't know the actual username - can I get it back? Or roll back to the previous Firefox?

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems to reset the cookies from those sites:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
