Firefox takes a long time to boot up? Version 3.6 was fast and since then it has become a pain to wait for boot up! Is there anything I can do?
I am running windows vista on a quad compputer and all my other programs respond reasonably fast. Only Firefox and AVG seem to respond very slowly. If I time it , it may take a minute or longer for the Firefox front screen to appear and sometimes I even have to reselect with the mouse a second time to bring it up. I am now up to date with updates (v6) and I believe it started about a week ago.

The first thing I would try is disabling all of your add-ons, to see if they are causing the problem. You can disable add-ons by opening the add-on manager.
