I run Firefox 3.6.19 on Mac OX 10.4.11. The search engine pane has enlarged to about10 inches now and the webaddress pane is now only about 1 inch and in complete urls are shown in a drop down list. I want to restore the earlier configuration

You can place the mouse pointer between the location bar and the search bar and it will become a resize icon that you can drag right or left with the left mouse button pressed to change the relative width of the two bars.
