I would like to block the downloads window. Please tell me how. I don't need it. It's a nuisance.

  1. In the tools menu select Options to open the options window
  2. Go to the General panel and de-select the setting "Show the downloads window when downloading a file"

Thanks, Tony. The "General" tab that opened first when I clicked Tools => Options didn't contain that setting, but when I clicked the "General" icon (first icon in the menu bar at the top), I saw your recommended selection.

Nice, simple solution. I'm looking forward to not seeing the downloads window again.
