I have my homepage set to iGoogle, but when I open a subsequent tab it goes automatically to Yahoo, how do I change this?

I have set my homepage to iGoogle. any new tabs opened go to yahoo search, I prefer using google to search, yet there does not seem to be an option to change this. Older versions of Firefox opened tabs to your home page, this version doesn't, nor do I have a way to change the setting in the options menu that i'm aware of.
