Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0

Firefox 4 begins swapping pages to disk after just an hour of usage or less, slowing down the system (a modest: P4, 256MB memory). It seems like a common problem across all platforms. 3.6 was fine.

256 MB is not much memory these days.
Can't you add more memory, so you have at least 512 MB or better 1 GB?

If Firefox uses too much memory and the OS start swapping then you can try to close and reopen Firefox to clear all used memory and start fresh again.

Will do if I can still find RDRAM in Ukraine :) Linux is not that memory-hungry. Developers shoud check it anyway. I am sure they will. And thank you for assistance! (My English is a bit rusty.)
