Some websites don't show properly, but are fine on my computer on Explorer. Did set the page style to basic page style.

running Vista, and latest Firefox. Pictures show over text or shift to right - on only some sites, like Pottery Barn and Ikea, and the one I care most about, done by amateur programmer, vinalhavenlandtrust.org.

I can view the linked page ok in Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0

Try clearing the browser cache, and try experimenting with different zoom settings.

I clear my cache frequently, or refresh.

Sorry to ask again but

The problem may well be some setting or problem on your computer, such as Java Scripts not enabled, or blocked by some sort of security etc software. I did check the site you provided a link to and it looks ok to me, that tends to indicate the site itself is ok.

What security software, adblockers etc are installed on your computer ? Have you tried temporarily disabling any such software as a test ?

Did you make changes to the minimum font size?

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting 'none' as a high value can cause issues like you described.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

You can use one of these extensions to adjust the default font size and page zoom on web pages:
