Open the bookmarks sidebar by using keyboard shortcut Control+B

In the Bookmarks toolbar list in the sidebar, if the separator is shown right-click on it and choose Delete

this was annoying me also, just drag one of your bookmarks from bookmarks toolbar on top of it and it will disappear.

Thanks for the response loftyy, but that didn't help either. Though, it doesn't really bother me anymore.

Are those separators part of the Bookmarks Toolbar items or do they appear in the Customize window?

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

In that case you can:

If they are part of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items then there may be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
