I disabled script error messages which were hanging up gmail in ff 3.6.16 and some previous versions, now hangs up with no message

FF kept giving me a script error message (something like a script is unable to complete on this page with a long address at the bottom), and it would hang up I took some advice from the web and disabled that message (sorry, can't remember what), also clean the cache, and now it still hangs up, but without giving me that message. Has gotten worse with each ff update. Help!
