Everything I click on opens in a new window, How do i fix this?

EVERYTHING i click on opens in a new window. even when checking email or whatever I click on the email a new window opens, then I click to go back to emails and a new windows opens. everything I do a new window opens it is super annoying. anyone have nay idea how to fix this?? I am really computer stupid in this department...HELP!!

Under Preferences > Content > checkmark "Block pop-up windows"

Under Preferences > Tabs > checkmark "Open new windows in a tab instead"

That may not solve all your problems, but it should make it a lot less annoying.

thanks, but i already checked that and all of that is already checked....sigh...this happened before and I had to do all kinds of weird stuff to get it to work right again. but I cant figure out how I did it.
