Firefox 3.6.10 is not the latest version. That is a security update Firefox 3.6.12, released at about 28 October. You can update via Help > Check for Updates.

Yeah, cor-el's right. Probably your prefs file is damaged, so your settings can't be saved.

In case you feel confident enough to reconfigure your fox by heart, just type "about:support" in the address bar. A page comes up where there's some button allowing you to open your profile folder (that's where all _your_ Firefox settings are stored).

Once you've opened that folder, look for a file called "prefs.js". If you decide to delete it, _all_ Firefox settings are lost. Then you may reconfigure the fox from scratch.

N.B.: Try MozBackup which is an application making it easy to save and restore your entire profile. Works a treat!

Thanks that likely the problem,I did update to the latest ff and it still does the same thing,I can live with it..
