window 2000, auto updated to 3.6. new adobe flash player needed but install do not work

on window 2000, auto updated firefox to 3.6. the update screen tell me that I have to update the adobe flash player and provide a link. each time when I choose the save the install_flash_player.exe, nothing happen.
