what side by side error?
Everything was running normal on HP Laptop with Win11 and been using Thunderbird constantly when suddenly I got the side by side error. Tried to troubleshoot it myself - checked registry for correct 9.0 number, downloaded Visual ++ from Microsoft site and ran it and clicked on "correct errors" Problem still exists
Went to Event viewer and found this message:
"Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe". Dependent Assembly mozglue,language="*",type="win32",version="1.0.0.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis"
I tried to do a search for this but to no avail.
Anny suggestions??
TIA Lance

They link to here, where you need to experiment with which Visual C++ Redistributable version will fix the error: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
Sigh, tried it all and still get side by side error. Even uninstalled and then reinstalled VC++ Redis x86 and x64 separately and rebooted each time :)
I'm not a computer geek but have fiddled with PCs since the early 80s so do know my way around them but this time I am stuck.
I have included a screenshot of the event viewer and the side by side details and what I read there is, to me, totally unknown.
Any ideas?
TIA
