Have you tried asking your distro support? Removing GC should be a simple matter of using the package manager. It would not normally be necessary to remove GC before installing Firefox. How are you trying to install Firefox?

What distro do you have, and is it still supported or has it reached EOL ?

Verify that you meet the System Requirements (GTK+ and GLib) for the current Firefox release.

You can find the full installer of the current Firefox release (121.0.1) in all languages and all operating systems here:

my chrome version of chrome is expired and no longer supported - this apparently complicates the matter - I've tried a couple of different programs and 2 looked like they had done the trick but they didn't - I am a senior user - disabled vet and bedridden currently so I don't understand a lot of computer jargone - like GTK+,GLiB, and distro ??? - blame it on Vietnam and the 4th Infantry Division

What kind of device is this since you posted with a ChromeOS user agent ? Is this about a normal desktop device ?

There is no real need to uninstall Google. but if you have a special device running ChromeOS, then you may need other instructions for installing Firefox.
