This issue started a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I move my mouse, very glitchy blocks sometimes appear on the site I'm using. Their behavior is very different, some blocks stay in a static position for a while, and no amount of moving the cursor changes that. Other blocks disappear as soon as I move the cursor or scroll up or down. The color of the blocks often matches the website background, but sometimes they are just white (this often happens when I highlight text, making it impossible to see) or black. (I really wish I could send a video to really show the behavior).

On some websites, there are no issues (like mozilla.org) while on others the website basically becomes unusable (gmail.com, my uni's website as seen in the pictures).

I really hope someone can help me, I reeeally don't want to switch to Chrome.

My system: ACER Spin 5 SP513-55N77LC Windows 11 Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM Firefox version: 118.0.2 (64-bit)

What I've tried: deleting all add-ons restart computer several times un- and reinstalling firefox scan for viruses using another browser (no issues there)

Chosen solution

Update your graphics drivers from the manufacturer's site.

Disable hardware acceleration if it still happens.
