unable to write the email to the mailbox in Thunderbird
Ever since I upgraded Thunderbird to version 102.6.1, I keep getting the message "unable to write the email to the mailbox in Thunderbird"
There's plenty of disk space and permissions haven't been changed. And then I tried creating a new profile, and it worked until I shut down the PC for the night, and in the morning, the problem recurred in the new profile too.
This is greatly hampering my work, so please help me.
I have donated to Thunderbird and will continue to do so if this problem can be resolved.

Note: I have two email accounts handled by Thunderbird. The main account, which has this problem, is a POP account. The Gmail account is an IMAP account and it is unaffected by this error.
I spoke too soon. today even the Gmail account is generating the same error message. I hope that someone can help me soon.
Running on a Windows 7 sp1 system, by the way.
Hello
This is happening when Thunderbird is trying to download a mail from your server. Try to look at the error console (Tools / Developer tools and try to get message with your Pop account). If there is nothing interesting (more precise), try to raise the debug level by goint to the config editor (settings / general, scroll all the way down until you find the config editor button), enter mailnews.pop3.loglevel, set it to 'All', validate by clicking the check mark, then try to get again messages on your Pop3 account. If there is something more in the error console and you don't understand it, please report.
I think that the global mail is not working. I can't see any stored email when off-line as well. Just upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10. Everything was working in Win 7. Made no changes after upgrade to Win 10. Some accounts are working, but those error accounts should be feeding their mail to the 'All Mail' account.

GP, thank you for pointing me in a very helpful direction.
As a novice, I am unable to understand the messages given by the Error Console, so I'm including an image of its messages.
Can you please look over the image and help me implement fixes?
Thank you so much!
Many blessings to you,
Hank
I don't see a smoking gun here I'm afraid. Can you:
1) use Help / more troubleshooting and do a screenshot of the result; I'm mostly interested in the Application Basics
2) raise the pop3 log level like I said in the previous post and try again to do a mail download / screenshot of error console
Dear GP,
Thank you so much for continuing to guide me.
I did raise the pop3 log lever and am attaching a new png to this message. At some point it became a very long list of numbers and then more info that the bottom, so I cut off the bottom part. If you need it, please let me know.
And I did a capture of the Application Basics, as you asked for, too.
Thanks again
Hank
Hello
yes the interesting part is just after the cut you did. Basically this is the part I expected to see a maximum of details leading to the last message about pop3MessageWriteError.
This said, your accounts are interesting: it seems that you have defined 2 times the same server Pop, one with port 995, one with port 110. You should ensure that only one of them is effective (the 993 one of course). If the 2 accounts are pointing to the same directory, it could explain some things. I'm not sure because I have never attempted such a setup. I'd try to delete 'account6' and restart Thunderbird in your place.
Dear GP,
I only created the second stars@soulhealing.com account because one person online suggest that I create a new profile to see if that worked, and it only did for one night but not the next day. So all of my issues pre-existed creating the second stars@soulhealing.com account. But I've deleted it just now as suggested.
The Error Console listing is so long that I had to trim it a bit to be able to send it to you. Here's the next image.
Crossed fingers that it shows you what you need to see.
Many blessings to you,
Hank
Well, Hank, you did a sterling job of putting a maximum of information on a screenshot.
I feel guilty of not thinking before of asking you to drill on the error message 'Got an error: name = pop3MessagewriteError', see the little arrow to the left, just after the red exclamation mark ? it's meant to be clicked on, to provide additional information. It may hide the secret of this mysterious problem. My only excuse is that I did not think of it because of other things on my mind. So click on it and just screenshot this part, please.
Dear GP,
I just expanded two message write errors and two download errors too, attached as an image.
Hope that they help.
Many blessings to you,
Hank
Hmm, this is not inspiring. Searching on the Windows error code gives a hit on someone fixing a problem by disabling their antivirus software. Can you try to start Windows in safe mode with networking ? this is a method to test the behaviour without an antivirus.
