Typerwriter comments disappear

I can click on comments / Typewriter then type something on a PDF. But as soon as I click elsewhere, the typed comment disappears. I've tried saving but that makes no difference. If I click again in the same spot, a text box appears with what I've typed appearing underneath. But that's no use if it doesn't appear on the page!

Thanks for replying. I'm not referring to a site but to Foxit PDF reader.
