G'day,

The attached image is my task manager which shows as being resource hungry for Firefox.....Firefox(9) @ approx 500MB.

This was taken immediately after desktop was rebooted.... nothing else started up....no other users having previous access....ie immediately after reboot

Are the nine sessions normal?

Firefox response time is also slow.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I am assuming that this is the new update service.

Firefox now runs a service to keep itself updated in the background. (This did not used to be the case, but all the rest of the browsers have done it for some time)

If you would like this disabled, or more information, check here Enable background updates on Firefox for Windows when Firefox is not running

If disabling this did not work, please come back, so we can understand the problem more in-depth.
