Can't access gmail with Thunderbird. Just started this week. Tried a bunch of stuff but it appears it's a Google thing. Is there a fix to the reported security issue with Google?

yep, corrected your anti virus huh?
Following latest Thunderbird update I have been unable to access gmail pop server. Keep being asked to input username & password (which I do) and then returns: "User name password not accepted." I can still sign in to gmail via website without any issue. Hence password is correct.
