Hi ,

I'm a total newbie at this so my apologies ....

I've been using Godaddy Workspace emails for 12 years and they are closing it in a few weeks and sending us all across to Microsoft annual subscriptions . No thanks . I have a few email addresses and need to archive their inboxes/ sent items for each . They recommend Thunderbird for that . So I hooked that up for my first email account and downloaded the approx 800 emails. All good . But for the second account I downloaded the inbox emails then realised I should have deleted some first from within my Workspace account before downloading . So I deleted the downloaded emails locally in Thunderbird so I could re-download it all . So I thought... But now all it does is say "No New Messages" ...no matter what I do .

How can I get Thunderbird to start afresh ?

I even deleted Thunderbird with Revo Uninstaller including all items , but when I reinstalled Thunderbird it still said "No New Items" ( obviously Revo didn't get all left over items ) I even tried making the second Workspace Email my main Thunderbird Identity Makes no difference ...it won't pick up the existing Workspace emails anymore, all it's doing is checking for new ones only . So now what ?

How do I start again with Thunderbird ? I'm finding this totally confusing .

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

Michael

Chosen solution

If you reinstalled Thunderbird and it straight up loaded the same profile, then Revo didn't clean up the data that matters. Your Thunderbird profile folder was untouched by whatever you did, hence the same behaviour from Thunderbird. If you want to start afresh, create a new profile using the profile manager as explained here Profile Manager - Create and remove Thunderbird profiles. For more info about profiles, see Profiles - Where Thunderbird stores your messages and other user data

Thanks Stan , yes so much for Revo cleaning up the uninstall !

I created a new profile as per yr link thnx , but it's still not letting me re-download all the godaddy emails ...it simply says "no new messages" Surely there must be a way to bypass that and re-download all the emails even if it's the same profile as before ?

Regards , Michael
