I'm on a 2017 Mac Pro desktop running Big Sur with a two-monitor setup. Thunderbird has been my email client since the beginning of this kit and was set up to open on Monitor2. Since the update on March 16, it now will not stay on Monitor2. It always opens on Monitor1 and has to be dragged across manually. I have now eliminated the possibilities that it was an Apple glitch. Today moved on to thinking it with with Thunderbird and decided to uninstall and reinstall. When I did so, deleting old edition, emptying trash, clearing cache, etc. , rebooting and I then downloaded the new Thunderbird. I installed it and, lo and behold, it opened on Monitor2 and stayed there. I had not loaded my old profile at this point. The installation seemed to hang as I input my email account details and kept wanting me to repeat this process, so I rebooted the machine. When it came back up, Thunderbird had found my old profile and loaded it, which would have been fine except . . . now it was back to refusing to stay on Monitor2. Any idea what is going on?

Thanks for the reply. I have had no problems with Firefox. It has opened and closed on the correct monitor as it should and there has been no change.

The change occurred with Thunderbird after the upgrade on 16 March. I tried all the above ideas and also contacted Apple support forums, in case it was an Apple issue. But there have been no recent Apple updates, so this seems unlikely. I then tried deleting Thunderbird from my computer and re-downloading it. This corrected the problem and it opened on the correct monitor and stayed there. However, it immediately went back to opening on the wrong monitor when I loaded my profile.

BUT . . . three days ago, it spontaneously corrected itself. I don't know why. It now opens as it should.

Apple glitch ,oke. the way described in your message in use with either 1 or 2 monitors is correct, concerns three years ago.

When using two monitors Firefox always opens in the left (main) monitor. It never remembers the last location (which is always the right monitor). It never opens in the right (secondary) monitor.

Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Using two monitors. Open firefox. 2. Move browser to right (secondary) monitor. 3. Close Firefox. 4. Open Firefox. It opens in left (main) monitor.

Expected Results: Firefox should remember the last closed position and reopen there, even if it is in the secondary monitor.

Let me look further in Thunderbird for you. There is no option for that idee within Thunderbird. Greetings Firefox volunteer.
