When a JavaScript web app has control of the mouse pointer, it slowly drifts downward

When I'm on a website using JavaScript and it captures my mouse, it acts as if the mouse pointer is slowly moving down. I'm not sure why or if it happens with anything besides JS, but here are some examples:

classic.minecraft.net quakejs.com dosgames.com (in games that use the mouse)
