drag and drop to move one event in a recurring series no longer works

I used to be able to drag an event that was part of a recurring task to a different day or even time. I.e. if I had an event that occurred at 8 AM every Monday I could drag it to 10 AM on any particular Monday. It would work the same way as 'edit only this occurrence'. Now I can drag it just like before and it looks right until I restart Thunderbird and then it ends up at the original time as it is set for the series. If I double click and 'edit only this occurrence' it will persist after a restart. Dragging an event that is not part of a series still works as it should and persists after a restart. Is there some configuration setting or something that controls this or is it a bug with the latest release? I'm using version 78.6.1.

Update: I found that deleting and recreating the recurring task resolved this. It seems to be an issue with all my recurring tasks. Not sure if something happened with the last update that caused this or not but at least I have a workaround.
