Password Issue

Overnight I am unable to receive/send mail to/from Comcast. I am able to logon to the Comcast site and open my mail. I understand that Thunderbird does not save my password to access my mail provider. However, Tech support at Comcast is telling me that if the Comcast site is accepting my password, the problem must be in Thunderbird. I am using version 78.6.0 (32 bit version). I would really appreciate some help from the Community. Thanks, Big John (feeling like Little Lost John)
