Thunderbird Portable continually updating

I have Thunderbird Portable version 78.4 created by Mozilla on oct 19 2020, this is reported on update history & is the only entry. Since using this version since release I have had automatic updates turned off & have received messages to update which I have clicked "Not Now" I decided 5 days ago to change options to automatic & app worked without update for 3 days, then on startup it went to update automatically & re-started TB as expected. every day since it has started the update process after which I checked the update history & there is no change. So, everytime I start TB it goes through this update without actually making any change. How do I get it to stop updating when there is nothing to update

Lets start at the beginning here....


1. Mozilla for not make Thunderbird. MZLA does. 2. Portable Thunderbird is not made by MZLA 3. if you install Thunderbird from Thunderbird.net on your computer and it works then I suggest you take any other issues up with Portableapps.com as the makes and distributors of the portable version and it's wrapper.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, the last 2 days I have been re-organising PTB In your reply you mention MZLA which I have no knowledge of Also you mention install "Thunderbird from Thunderbird.net " there is no portable version on this site. If there is an issue with PTB then surely it is a Mozilla issue not a site that has downloads for many apps.

I have mostly resolved the issue by using another portable drive and re-locating PTB there, it is now asking for updates which I will ignore for a while.
