Cannot received emails from tpg.com.au after new version Thunderbird 78.0 was updated automatically on 28/10/2020 - how to solve problem?

Chosen solution

Thank you Matt, TPG finally solve problem after 2 days of contacting All about security protocol - like you said change to 'NONE' (Password, transmitted insecurely)Port 110 and server name to 'mail.tpg.com.au' (under POP Mail Server). For Outgoing (SMTP) need change same ServerName: mail.tpg.com.au Port:25, Connection Security: None Authentication method: Password, transmitted insecurely. Wondering if it is secure even tough they ask password on first time on connection.

The last person I saw on here from TPG was using STARTTLS or SSL/TLC connections security, but TPG does not support that.

Are you using it?

Hi Matt Currently my TPG email using STARTTLS (also SSL/TLC) Called them mentioned could be the update version causing problem, the one who answered cannot help, just escalate it and hopeful they call back with solution. Can access mail box and website and receive mail from Yahoo - definitely ThunderBird problem. They should know the new update can cause problem - should warn us or update it properly.

If you change the connection security to none does Thunderbird work?

There is no mention in TLS or SSL/TLS in their recommended settings https://www.tpg.com.au/support/generalsetting.php so I suggest just turn it off for now.
