History being recorded during private browsing

I am using the current release of the browser and I've noticed sites I've visited during private browsing are showing up under Highlights when opening a blank new tab.

I've noticed this at home and at work as I use sync.

When I delete the page from highlights I'm asked if I'm sure I want to delete the link from my history
