over last 9-12 months have been receiving regular timed out connection messages which hoster frees up by white listing but reoccurs.
In some instances it seems to indicate a wrong password so I have changed all the acccount passwords to the same so I carefully type the right password but still get timed out. This problem did not use o occur but can not think why thunderbird alone should be a problem. Any ideas - I am not a techinical Pc user so need replies in understandable terms - please to help me as exasperated by this issue. I like Thunderbird but am seriously having to think of changing which I am loathe to do as it only occurred repeatedly in last 9-12 months - new version makes no difference

Please clarify the statement quoted above. Are you saying Thunderbird is the only email app having this issue, meaning you've tried others and didn't encounter the same issue with them?
Thanks for the query on my issue. Thunderbird is the only e-mail programme with which I experience this problem. As noted, I contact the hosting company who are usually quick to react by whitelisting the site having checked error messages at their end. Whilst I appreciate the readiness to whitelist, the timed out connection does l ead to problems in responding to external e-mails quickly.
