Thank you for confirming what I had suspected

I too had this page come up last night when I clicked on a site offering solutions to fridge breakdown, when I saw the time limit being given to claim this prize by paying a £1 suddenly becoming shorter, I quitted out of the site. I hope I do not have any malware on my computer and trust my Trend Micro Antivirus will take care of this. I'll run my Malware detector. Just wanted to let you know there is someone out there trying to scam vulnerable people in this time of social isolation.

Just had this start today when on the Metro.co.uk newspaper website. Browser was constantly redirected to a "Sky loyal customer offer" while just reading a page, which is really annoying.

It looked dodgy because of the the IP address listed, most good websites wouldn't do this, but lots of dodgy ones do to scare people that they're watching you.

All 4 of my extensions are disabled, and Norton can't see anything, so I'm guessing it might be some dodgy software at some sites, perhaps with hidden pop-ups or invisible overlays that trigger the redirection.

Just remember... if it seems too good to be true then it usually is, don't get scammed people.

That may not have anything to do with you (i.e. it is a website issue), although a more thorough malware scan wouldn't hurt if you encounter more such pop-ups.

Also make sure that you do not use a proxy or VPN.
