Firefox hangs clearing private data
The entire time I've had my Note 8 and firefox, I have noticed that when I quit the browser, it more often than not hangs on clearing private data. I've let the phone sit during this process for almost an hour before and it NEVER completes the process.
When this happens, if I go and close all the tabs and history manually, then it will finally quit. Doesn't make sense to have to do it manually when there is the setting to do it automatically.

Couldn't post images on here when using the mobile version, so had to switch to desktop version JUST to get the post image options.
Now how stupid is that!!! Wow
Hi Greg
Thank you for the question and the feedback. We are trying to make our support tools more mobile friendly.
To help fix this, I recommend that you open the Android Settings app, open Applications and clear the cache for Firefox (not data!).
This should help speed things up.
Well that's missing the entire point of the issue. If FF has a built in function to do that very thing, then users shouldn't need to do it manually. Everyone is missing the point! Of course we can do it manually, and then the question and issue remains and it's never been fixed
Hi
Sometimes cache will accumulate a bit like dust: does not build up very fast, does not really do any harm, but it is much nicer when it is gone.
Glad to hear this issue is resolved.
Who said the issue was resolved? FF doesn't want to address the issue so apparently to them it doesn't exists no matter how many people report the same issue.
FF is set to clear this data on exit in my settings, screenshot, yet this is when it hangs so it is an issue.
Just to clarify, you gave now been able to clear the browsing history on exit..?
No! What I said was, I have FF set up to clear data on exit!
But when you open a few pages and then exit FF, THIS is when FF HANGS ON EXIT! Cannot make it any clearer than that!
As a hopefully one off, have you tried clearing the cache?
Have you also tried Firefox Preview and setting that to clear your browsing history on exit?
